Corvus is a project that began in the spring of 2008. All members have devoted a large portion of their lives to music and continue to have a strong passion for their original creative art.

Lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Chad began playing guitar at the age of 12 and started developing his vocal abilities shortly thereafter. Later in his teens, he began exploring the music scene in Ottawa by playing several venues as a solo act. His local success was a hit but he felt it was time to evolve with other talented musicians and start a new band.

During the summer of 2007, Meisha responded to an ad posted by Chad on SoundCheck, a service for musicians looking for other musicians hosted by 106.9 FM, The Bear (now known as Virgin). Meisha’s creative ability and enthusiasm was inspired by several well known guitar instructors. Meisha’s creative guitar skills have been well recognized by several musical institutions and he continues to electrify crowds everywhere he plays. Upon getting together, Chad and Meisha had instant musical chemistry and began to write some of the early original Corvus material.

In the spring of 2008, while on the lookout for a new bassist, Reg replied to a post left by Chad on Craigslist. Now permanently relocated in Ottawa, Reg was looking for a new musical challenge and project. His experience in playing with several bands throughout the United States was a great addition and would compliment existing and new original material.

After experimenting with several drummers, Andrew became a perfect final piece of the puzzle to form Corvus. His talent, experience and desire are a rare luxury for any band, especially at such a young age. Andrew played for ‘Young at Heart’ a prominent band in the Ottawa hardcore scene and has recorded several studio albums.

Since the band has been completely formed, Corvus began working with their original material and rehearsed thoroughly. From December 2008 – May 2009, Corvus recorded and released their first studio EP titled “Thirteen” with the help from producer Jordan Zadorozny at French Kiss Studios in Pembroke, Ontario. During that time, Corvus played the local Ottawa/Gatineau scene and explored other venues outside the city.

Currently, Corvus has been supporting the release of their EP by playing in a variety of live settings and plan to continue playing as much as possible. Several spectators and supporters have commented on how unbelievable it is that Corvus has not even been together for a full year. The live gigs are very energetic, entertaining and professional! The newly released EP is of the utmost quality and no corners have been cut.  In the meantime, Corvus continues to write new material and plans to release a full length CD in 2010.

Corvus appreciates and recognizes all the support from everyone throughout this adventure.  These types of projects are very difficult and many obstacles have to be conquered.  Without you, none of this happens!
